Jeremy, at Good As You, appeared on a tv show called In the Life. While most of the comments were good, you always have some nut who comments. Unfortunately for this nut, he not only left his email address, but Jeremy is a good investigator (and it sounds like something I would have done!). Here are the comments from beefman500@homtmail.com:
I just saw your clip on T.V. I know your (sic) not going to change who you are. I know what I have to say, your (sic) not really going to give a shit about, however you have this site so I’m posting on it.
You CAN’T just expect everyone to be okay with you, and your life. Your (sic) a fag, and that (sic) fine, but keep it to yourself. Trust me, if I ever walk by you on the street with my kids and I see you kissing or holding hands with some dude, I’ll brake (sic) every bone in your gay little body. Keep your shit behind closed doors, so children can’t see you.
I know your (sic) going to say "oh here is another person who is out to hurt me because I’m gay, oh the life I have to live". Your (sic) wrong dude, I’m just giving you the "kick in the pants" you like to give the rest of the world, as you said on the T.V show. Now Ms.Honest, how’s that for truth?
Jeremy responded with some funny comments, but then got down to business:
My bones are accelerating an exorbitantly high rate of speed? I mean, sure, holding hands with my partner really revs my engines, but I didn’t realize that put my bones in a place where they need "braking."
This guy, as I mentioned, left his email, so Jeremy googled it, and he found that beefman500@hotmail.com is almost certainly Nick Peronace who owns Enterprise Steaks. Here are the rest of Jeremy’s comments:
And what do you know? He runs a Philadelphia beef distribution company called Enterprise Steaks! So then I got to thinking — Hey, maybe some people don’t LIKE the idea of "braking" people’s bones for living who they are. And maybe some people would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS buy a steak from a company run by a man who supports such a concept. So as my civic duty, I feel the need to let everyone know about Enterprise Steaks (registered in the Better Business Bureau to one Mr. Nick Peronace) and their company’s desire to slow down the bones of gay men and women nationwide (for the sake of the children, of course)!
So there ya have it, folks. If you find putting the "brake" on gay folks a despicable thing to desire, than perhaps you might want to reconsider your Enterprise Steaks purchase. If you’re hungry for some meat, you might be better off going otherwise anyway. After all, judging by the grammatical errors in his missive to us, what might be delivered to your door by his "steak" company would be less along the lines of "charred cow" and more like "the thing you use to kill Dracula."
**UPDATE: A comment made on this blog further links this email addy to Nick @ Enterprise Steaks.
**UPDATE2: Matthew of BoyCulture just tipped us off to the fact that "Beefman"/ Nick seems to have a habit of stirring up stuff in Internet forums. In fact, there is a now defunct web forum called "Mess With Beefman" (still viewable via Google cache).
The next step is to find out who is buyers are and contact them.
And this is the kind of investigations we all should be doing to find out who these idiots are. Congratulations Jeremy!
And someone just gave a web address to a forum that beefman500 posted to. Here is a comment, which I’m sure some of his customers would love to see:
I once had HD. Then I got the bill. It’s nice and all but I really don’t watch Tv that much so why have HD? Pluse Comcast BLOWS. I always get a nigger on the phone who can’t help me. I have DTV and I …
