DL Foster and his Challenge

I think the time away from blogging did not calm DL Foster.  One could hope that he would return and be a little bit more, um, relaxed about things.  But no, he has come back with a vengeance.  He believes it is his job to warn the church about those nasty gays and lesbians.  He acts as if he were one of the original church fathers fighting against ‘heretics.’

He now has the ego to give out awards:

It purports to do the following:

"The Monument will highlight the posts of blog authors who present a clear biblical defense of truth in the face the false theology of the gay Christian movement."

This seems, well, arrogant to me, as if he were important enough to be giving out awards in the first place.

Today he, in his inflated ego, now challenges gay Christians to answer his question, and he gives them seven days to do it!  As if he were in a position of power to not only give a challenge!

The Challenge?

GCM Watch would like to issue a 7 day challenge any member of the gay christian movement to please submit a list of criteria whereby we may adequately judge the validity of homosexual relationships.

For one thing this challenge makes no sense.

Secondly, not only does he challenge gay Christians, he seems to think that he is adequate to ‘judge the validity of homosexual relationships’!  Isn’t that like Bush asking the peace movement for a list of why they are for peace, so that he can judge them?  Anyone who knows the history of Foster knows that his judgment is pretty biased, even before a response can be sent in (and I really hope his challenge is totally ignored).

DL Foster really needs to re-read his passages in Romans.  He is so engrossed by Rom. 1:28-32, and in his excitement to judge, skips over the next chapter–Romans 2:

Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others;  for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things….

Maybe Foster (or whoever wrote this piece) needs to think about his judging.  Besides, IMHO (in my humble opinion) Foster is not in a position to judge ‘homosexual relationships.’  Who does he think he is?  Respect is earned, and he certainly hasn’t earned any.  I hope that anyone who reads his challenge ignores it.  He isn’t in a position of authority to ask such questions.
