I just read Joe Brummer’s blog and saw that in Massachusetts, where gay marriage is legal, a group of fundamentalists tried to have a constitutional convention to bring an anti-gay marriage ballot to the people. They lost, and we won.
You can read the entire piece of news here. It needed 50 legislators to support it, and then it would go to the people. The final vote was 151 to 45! Now it appears that the earliest it could be put to the voters is 2012.
As I told Joe, it might be time for me to whip out my martini glasses and mix up a cosmo for me and Doug when he gets home to celebrate!
