This news is a couple of days old, but worth repeating. Republican Senator David Vitter of Louisiana did business with the D.C. Madam, even though he was married and voted to ban gay marriage. So here is picture of the good family man:
I see that his website does not list his extracurricular activities. What a shame. But his official website does have a ‘Life and Values’ section where the family man pushes the Abstinence before marriage program. Here is what he has to say about the program:
“This a valuable program with proven results, but it is nearing its expiration. We must reauthorize this program so we can continue the incredible strides we have made in teaching teens about both risk avoidance and protecting themselves from potential abuse,” Vitter said.
What a good example this senator sets for the teens of today. I guess hiring a couple of prostitutes while being married doesn’t have anything to do with abstinence before marriage since after all, he is married.
Here is his biographical statement (and try to imagine the family man senator getting a couple of prostitutes to come back to his apartment while calling his wife and telling her to have a good night). I’ve done the bolding and underlining:
David Vitter is dedicated to making life better for his young family and all Louisiana families. He’s focused on putting Louisiana first as an independent and outspoken reformer, and on advancing mainstream conservative principles.
…David and his wife Wendy live in Metairie with their four children, ages 13 and under, and are lectors at St. Francis Xavier Church.
Maybe the good senator can tell us what those ‘mainstream conservative principles’ are??? I wonder what his wife thinks of those mainstream conservative principles now?
And the most disgusting thing about all of this? He runs the Women’s Leadership Forum! And what does this forum do?
My Women’s Leadership Forum is designed to help me focus on the views and needs of women and families.
One wonders if he will remain doing this forum, when the only needs he really cares about is his own, which he seems to like to pay for. Doesn’t sound very respectable to women, now does it?
And talk about being an utter hypocrite: this family-values senator voted for the anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment! Can you believe that? So did the good, family-values senator go home and rent a prostitute to celebrate his vote that tried to change the constitution to keep marriage a man and a woman? My guess would be yes.
I don’t think I can say too much more about this horrible senator, except to say that he is a good friend of none other than Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council! You can read Tony Perkin’s statement here. Now instead of condemning his friend with the Ten Commandments and seeking a constitutional change to prevent adulterers from remaining or getting married, Perkins gives a little song and dance. Even Jesus Christ condemned adultery and in the Old Testament adulterers were stoned. But do conservatives make a big outcry about this and try to prevent adulterers getting work, or keeping them from getting hotel rooms, they say nothing. Here is a great example of picking and choosing of scripture.
