The IndependentChristianPatriot was scheduled to have a Mormon guest on the radio show this Sunday. But that part of the show has been cancelled. Robert Bayn, the host of the show just states that it was cancelled because of "the failure of our guest being able to come on." I don’t know what this really means. But here is what Robert had to say today about it today (the post is dated Aug. 5):
"This Sunday ‘The Christian Patriot Hour’ returns to the airwaves, with a special discussion on ‘The Emerging Church’. As most know, this week was originally slated to be a discussion on Mormonism, but do to the failure of our guest being able to come on, we have change this up some, however we may get into the topic of Mormonism, as I believe they are part of this false doctrine that is giving Christianity cancer. Also this week I will have a official statement concerning last weeks controversy between, Mark and Charlene Cothran."
Before getting into possible reasons why this Mormon could not make it to the show, I want to show a poll that Robert is taking at this blog. The question is: Are Mormons Christians? His readers can then answer:
- Yes, because they believe in Jesus Christ
- No, they are a Cult offspring of Christianity
- I don’t know, but the idea of having more than one wife nagging at me, scares me
Of the four readers that took the poll, all four answered "No, they are a Cult offspring of Christianity."
And now look at what Robert had to say about Mormonism: "I believe they are part of this false doctrine that is giving Christianity cancer."
Now put these two together and you can get a pretty good feel for why a Mormon wouldn’t dare step foot into this mess. It would be like walking into a lion’s den. A false doctrine? A cancer? A cult? It would be interesting to hear from this Mormon why he couldn’t call in on Sunday. Maybe there really was a scheduling conflict. But maybe he just planned on getting a headache…
