Alvin McEwen has written a really good post on the antics of a woman named Crystal Dixon. She is a black woman and she wrote an article in the Toledo Free Press about the evil homosexuals and that there are thousands of gays and lesbians who walk away from homosexuality every day. Yep. Every day. She also states that she is biologically and genetically a black woman. Sorry Crystal. There is no ‘black gene.’ As Alvin McEwen has stated, Crystal Dixon is ignorant of history, especially African American history. The idea that there actually is a major genetic difference between blacks, whites, Asians and so on led to the idea that whites are superior because of their genes. But there is no black gene, just like there is no white gene and no Jewish gene (for those who want to tie it in with the Nazis).
But I can understand where Crystal Dixon is coming from. She writes:
"As a Black woman who happens to be an alumnus of the University of Toledo’s Graduate School, an employee and business owner, I take great umbrage at the notion that those choosing the homosexual lifestyle are "civil rights victims." Here’s why. I cannot wake up tomorrow and not be a Black woman. I am genetically and biologically a Black woman and very pleased to be so as my Creator intended."
I can understand because I cannot wake up tomorrow and be a straight man. It isn’t a choice. PFOX and Exodus (groups that she mentions in her article) aren’t changing people–they are convincing people that they have changed. There is a difference. Once again you have a know-it-all making these sweeping statements in support of their anti-gay beliefs.
And for those of you who want to read more about race and what race really means in terms of genetics, here are a couple of really good articles:

Alvin also sent out another post about Crystal Dixon. It turns out that she is the Associate Vice President for Human Resources at University of Toledo. And she has apparently been suspended. Like Alvin, I agree with her suspension. She can say what she wants, and she did, freely. But she works in an office which has this mission statement:
The UT Human Resources team department’s mission is provide strategic and high quality services to students, staff and faculty in support of the university’s mission to improve the human condition and be a transformative force in the world. This includes leadership in labor and Employee Relations, personnel management services, staffing, compensation, benefits administration and consultation on all workforce issues.
Imagine having a racist in a position in the Human Resource department. It would never fly. So I can see why Crystal Dixon would be suspended. She really isn’t interested in providing strategic and high quality services to all students, staff and faculty–she is only interested in those who agree with her choice of religion. Imagine being a gay or lesbian student and having to deal with someone like Crystal Dixon. She isn’t interested in improving the human condition, especially if those humans happen to be gay or lesbian. I would be happy if Crystal Dixon was put back in her position–but only after she takes some sensitivity training, which is something her office probably provides but that she must have missed. She also needs to take a history course, which I’m sure the University of Toledo also provides.
