The title of my post is taken directly from Stacy Harp’s blog. She has been recruiting people to join her in her quest to destroy gays and lesbians in this country. It must be a sad life, if you ask me. I’ve been trying to imagine what it is like to devote my life to actively try to take away the rights and dignity of another group of people. I’ve been trying to imagine myself trying to demonize another group of people. I tried it yesterday after my class. Here is what I thought I would feel like if I decided to do this:
1) I would feel morally superior to the people I was attacking.
2) I would despise them because they refuse to change
3) I would try to join other groups that feel the same as I do
O.k., after taking a shower to wipe away these horrible feelings, I’ve come to the conclusion that these people need our pity. As I said, it must be a sad life people like Stacy Harp and the other anti-gay activists live. They are constantly seeking to deny people rights based on the message from a book they believe to be from a god. They need to be pitied because they cannot and/or do not wish to read the entire thing. They lash out because they have to. They have to because they need to feel morally superior to those they fight against. It must be a sad life because they choose to ignore the damage they do to other people. It is easy to demonize a bunch of faceless, nameless people. But they have a hard time when a face does show up and when a name of a real person pops up in one of their blogs. But that doesn’t stop them. They can’t stop their mission to rid the world of evil because then they would have to stop and think about their own sad lives.
And answering the question: Is God judging America Because of our National Sin? Well, what is that national sin, for one thing. Is it that not everyone is forced to believe in the same religion? Or is it the sin of adultery? Or the sin of divorce? Surely homosexuality isn’t a national sin because it isn’t national. There are laws against gays and lesbians everywhere.
Anyway, since the beginning of the creation of religion, people have thought they are living in the end times and that their god is punishing them for some reason. People like Stacy and her friends like to think of themselves as being special in that they are seeing the end and living in the end. They like to think that natural disasters are God’s punishment. In case you haven’t hears, the floods in the Midwest are because of gay marriage in California. Yes, you can read about it here in a blog written by a man named John McTernan (not surprisingly Stacy likes this blog–she finds it interesting). Here is his post for June 17. I’ve done the bolding:

Famine and Floods
The massive flood continues to devastate the Midwest. God warns in the Bible that He takes both the food and water away during judgment of a nation. This is exactly what has happened to the Midwest. The crops have been destroyed and the water is undrinkable! This is happening at the very time the United States government is pressuring Israel to divide the covenant land and homosexual marriage is being flaunted in California.
Isaiah 3:1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.
Is there any fear of God in the church? Where are the pastors and christian leaders? I have been warning of this for 20 years. For the most part it has fallen on deaf ears. Sin is destroying this once great nation. You can feel it dying. It is now all around us. A currency represents a nation. At one time everyone wanted dollars while today no one wants dollars. The economy is slowly sliding into a major recession and most likely a depression. The price of food is becoming prohibitive.
For whatever reason the church sits like a "deer in headlights." The homofascists are working day and night to overthrow the government and set up their Imperial Kingdom, of course no real Christians are welcome. The homofascists have taken over California and legalized homosexual marriage which is an abomination to God who is holy.

People ask how the floods in Iowa are related to homosexual marriage in California. The floods are also connected to pressuring Israel to divide Jerusalem and create a Palestinian state. So there are two events going on at the same time which brings judgment on the nation.
I believe that the homosexual marriage is connected because this is one nation. It appears God is touching the food source of America in relation to the national sin. Also, where is the national repentance for this bold sin! What happened in Iowa could happen anyplace in the nation. If the church does not stand up in California and lead the state in repentance for sodomy, rest assured that California’s days are numbered. No state can flaunt sin like this without a reaction from the LORD who is holy. God may give time until November to see if homosexual marriage is outlawed; however with the homofascists in charge of the California government they probably will ignore the constitutional amendment or find some way to get around it. The homosfascists will not give up that easily as they hate anything connected with God.

Homosexuals in the pulpits is a sure sign that God has abandoned that denomination. I know of know time in history when apostasy was so deep, that homosexuals stood boldly with their sin in the pulpits of a denomination.
Now this guy is dangerous. He asks "people ask how the floods in Iowa are related to homosexual marriage in California." Actually, no one who is sane would ask such a thing. I doubt the question occurred to very many people, especially those whose houses have been destroyed. If anything, they will read this and wonder why the all-powerful god didn’t cause problems in California to punish Californians instead of taking it out on the poor people of Iowa! These are the words of someone who looks for bad things somewhere and without any logic connects them to something he/she doesn’t like. If I lived in Iowa, I would be pretty upset that this guy has linked their pain and suffering with something unrelated. And I do think that John McTernan needs to get a grip. He appears to not know that the flooding in the midwest started long before gays and lesbians were allowed to get married. But then again, when should facts get in the way of lunacy? And he appears to be unaware of the history of the midwest. Flooding occurs in that area in the spring because there are rivers there and because it rains a lot in the spring. It is just like flooding in India every spring. Or flooding in China every spring. It has nothing to do with Israel, or gays and lesbians, or the price of sugar on mars…
