Marriage Equality in Connecticut

This is very good news!  Same Sex Marriage is now allowed in Connecticut.  Their State Supreme Court just made its ruling today.  Some are upset (as expected).  But more are happy.

Justice is finally prevailing in some parts of the country. Law courts are doing just what they are supposed to do–protect all people.  And especially protect them from religious persecution.

I do like what one of the Republicans had to say about this:

“While I believe these decisions are better left to elected representatives, it is ultimately the province of the State Supreme Court to interpret our constitution. The Court carried out that responsibility today and ruled that the institution of marriage in Connecticut must include same-sex couples. Whether people agree or disagree, we all need to respect the Court’s decision and abide by the ruling.”

Ah, if only we had the same kind of Republicans in this state…
