Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukah!

I hope everyone has a nice Christmas, Kwanzaa, or Hanukah–whatever you decide to celebrate!  We’re having some friends over for dinner tomorrow (Christmas Eve) and then we are going to a Christmas party on Christmas day in San Francisco.  It should be a nice couple of days.

I don’t start teaching until Jan 5, so I have about a week and half to play around with making a mosaic or two and playing around with the powertools.  Both of us have signed up for a 10 week woodworking class that starts Jan. 5.  It meets 3 hours each time, so I imagine by the time we are done with that there shouldn’t be too much we can’t make!

These are, indeed, beautiful and inspiring. They remind me of one of my favorite movies—THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which starred Charlton Heston as Michaelangelo and Rex Harrison as Pope Julien. Michaelangelo didn\’t do mosaics, of course…but the feel of the art is the same—the attempt to capture the Source of Love and Light uin a way that is intelligible to our human minds and hearts.
