Hate Crime Bill Passes In the House!!

Now let’s see if it will pass in the Senate.  Luckily, President Obama has stated that he will sign the bill, as opposed to Bush who refused.  Here is what the President had to say before the vote was taken:

"I urge members on both sides of the aisle to act on this important civil rights issue by passing this legislation to protect all of our citizens from violent acts of intolerance – legislation that will enhance civil rights protections, while also protecting our freedom of speech and association,” the President said in a statement.  I also urge the Senate to work with my Administration to finalize this bill and to take swift action.”

Wow, what a difference it has made to dump the Republicans (and I see that even Republicans are abandoning the right wing ship that was once the Republican party)!

they\’re still around though…crazy, like Minnesota\’s own Michelle Bachmann (you\’ve seen me blog a couple of times about that loon…she claimed carbon dioxide was harmless because it\’s natural and then tried to claim swine flu only occurs when a Democrat is President (both of these claims were false, by the way) and I\’m still trying to figure out where she thought she was going with that last one…"Swine Flu is God\’s Judgement on America when they vote for Democrats" maybe, But since Gerald Ford was President the last time it came around she really can\’t get too far with it.But my point is..they\’re not gone…they are the main opposition to the US ratifying the UN\’s Children\’s Rights Treaty…they are why we didn\’t sign the Kyoto Accord (even though it was our idea). Watch them!
