A Short Heat Wave

We were going to work on the front fence all this weekend, but a little heat wave decided to visit us.  Right now it is 102 F.  But we are still going out to rent a gas powered post hole digger and get the rest of the holes dug.  I find it interesting that when I need to dig the holes, we can’t get a post hole digger, but when Doug has to, that is how it will be done.  🙂

Hey Jeffrey! That is hot! We only made it to 104. But we finished digging the fence posts (all 13 of them!).

When I lived in WI we had to make the post holes (for a deck) at least 3 ft down due to the frost. Even with a gas powered auger it was a horrible job.

Hey Rob,Luckily here in California we don\’t get frosts like the Midwest! We put that privacy fence posts in 3 feet down and the 3 foot tall fence 2 feet down. That was a bit overkill, but it won\’t be moving any time soon. We are in the process of putting up all the 2 inch by 2 inch pickets and soon I\’ll be able to plant the rest of my seedlings…
