And the Tide Continues…

The Hate Crime Legislation has passed in the Senate!  It passed 63 to 28.  Not surprisingly, all the 28 votes were from Republicans (what is wrong with those people???).  And 5 Republicans voted yes.  Wow.  I am totally surprised. I just told Doug last night that it probably won’t pass.  Thank GOD that McCain wasn’t elected.  He was one of the dimwits that tried to get it stopped.

I have been so sick of idiots who keep saying (and will probably continue to say) that this will affect people’s right to free speech.  This had absolutely nothing to do with speech—it has everything to do with violence. I am not amazed that these people will sink to such lies to keep the glbt community protected.  Now I will wait to see how many Christians are thrown in jail for speaking out against the glbt community.   🙂

Here is the list of senators that voted yes, voted no, and didn’t vote (borrowed from Tips-Q):

It looks like I am a little premature in my celebrations.  Although it is attached to the Defense Budget, there is something in there about F-22s which may cause the whole bill to be vetoed.  We’ll just have to wait and see…

Hi Kevin! You asked the question "what is wrong with those people???" I had a thought : Nothing is wrong with them.I then remembered a Spanish proverb my grandparents used to say constantly:"God makes them, then they all get together."
